This article provides an overview of how the CloudM product suite is licensed. Whether you are migrating data or managing your Google Workspace domain, this guide explains the consumption logic for each product.
CloudM Migrate
Licensing is tied to the destination domain and the unique entities receiving data. Licences are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Core principle
CloudM Migrate licensing is based exclusively on the unique destination entities migrated to. If your discovery reveals 100 source users being migrated into 100 destination mailboxes, you require 100 licences.
Consolidation benefit: if 100 source users are consolidated into 1 single destination mailbox, you only require one licence.
For technical details on identity tracking and processing constraints, refer to How are licences consumed?
Destination: Google Workspace
| Entity | Consumption rule |
|---|---|
| Users | 1 licence per unique destination user. |
| Shared Drives | 1 licence per 10GB increment per destination drive. |
| Spaces | 1 licence per destination Space. |
| Groups / Resources | Migrated licence-free. |
Destination: Microsoft 365
| Entity | Consumption rule |
|---|---|
| Users | 1 licence per unique destination user. |
| SharePoint Sites / Libraries | 1 licence per 100GB increment per destination site. |
| Teams / Groups | 1 licence per destination Team or Group. |
| Resources | No licence required. |
Planning tip
Perform a Source Discovery / Environment Scan before purchasing licences. This provides the volume reports needed to calculate your final destination-based requirement.
