Users > Actions

Selecting the Actions button will prompt a drop down menu to be displayed with links to all the available actions for the user account.

  • Update Password - If the user cannot remember their password then this is where you can reset it to another value. It must adhere to the OU password policy however.

  • Automate 2-Step Verification - Here you can add / remove / update all the versions of 2-Step Verification that CloudM Automate offers including Back-up codes; Google Authenticator; Fallback email addresses & Yubikeys
  • Automate Backup Codes - This is use purely for the backup codes of 2-Step Verification.
  • Email Settings - You can from here edit the users Send As address and Forwarding Rules.
    • It is now possible to remove any additional "Send as" addresses. You cannot delete the main email address.

  • Automate Out of Office - This allows you to set an Out of Office message for the user, including the time period that the message will be displayed between, and whether to send the response to people in the user's contacts or in their domain.

  • View Email Signature - This shows the current email signature value, not the one currently being synchronised out.
  • Set Calendar Time Zone - This sets the timezone for the user and affects the way the calendar looks for them and the default timezone for new events.

  • Rename User - Change the users name / email
  • Move User - Change the users location in your OU hierarchy
  • Hold User - Place the user on hold, rather than suspending or offboarding them.
  • Offboard User - Start the offboarding / deletion process

  • Suspend User - Lock this users account and stop all mail incoming.
  • Hide User - Remove this user from the global address list.

  • Automate Roles - Add roles to this user and an OU for which this role to have an effect upon.
  • Automate Connected Apps - Domain Administrators can manage Apps connected to the user's account via there Google account (Not currently available for Microsoft 365). Please see the Managing Connected Applications article for more detail.
  • Delegate Access - Provide access to this users account or provide this user access to another user's or users' account.
  • Delegate Calendar - Similar to Delegate Access but for Calendar only, not Mail.
  • Inspect Configuration - Quickly view where specific configurations are being inherited from.

  • Inspect Permissions - Quickly view the permissions that the selected user has, the scope of the permission (whether it only applies to  the user's own profile, a specific Organizational Unit, or all users in the domain), and which role the permission comes from.
    • If the permission is included in 2 (or more) roles assigned to the user, the user can perform the task on all specified OUs in scope.
        • Let's take an example where a user has 1 role with Email Signature Management permissions and it is set to Global Scope. At this point, they can perform Email Signature Management tasks for all users. They then get a 2nd role that also includes the same permissions but the scope is set to only apply to a specific OU (Marketing, in this example). The user could already perform the task on all users within the Marketing OU so these secondary permissions might seem redundant. However, if we then remove the user from the role with the Global scope, they will still be able to perform the task on users within the Marketing OU.
    • Selecting the Copy to Clipboard icon will copy the list of permissions so that you can paste it into another source (like a Support Ticket, if asked).

  • Send Email - Send an email directly to the user.
  • Contact Information - Create a QR code that contains the user's contact data as a vCard. Scanning the QR code with a phone will transfer the information to the address book. This functionality is supported on a range of iOS and Android phones. For more information on vCards, please see this wiki article.

  • Create Appointment - Create a quick appointment between the selected user and yourself. The appointment will sync to their calendar and you also have an option to send them a notification of the meeting.
