When you login to CloudM Automate, the first screen you will see is the Dashboard screen (also known as the Domain Insights screen). You can always get to this screen by selecting Dashboard.

The Dashboard is basically your monitoring dashboard, from which you can easily and instantly see the current health of your domain within CloudM Automate (including any urgent or potential issues to address) and statistical data (including charts and maps).

Tips for improvement

The Tips for improvement section provides a list of warnings designed to help you continually maintain your domain by providing both a description of the issue and a link to the impacted items / users.

By clicking the warning above for the 5 users who have failed to login over the last 30 days, we can view who they are and, if needed, use the Actions menu on the right to perform Admin functions.



Healthy Items

Healthy items are provided so you can remain aware of activity and processes that are successfully happening in the background.

Select the up arrow next to Hide healthy items to hide this section on the screen. 

If the section is hidden, select Show healthy items to display the section.




Please note that it can take up to 24 hours to collect the activity data required to display some of the data in the charts.

Last updated displays the last time that the information for the specific chart was updated.


Offboarding Statistics 

The offboarding statistics have 4 main areas.

  1. Filter options (where you can specify the Organizational Unit to view offboarding stats for)
  2. Offboarding Counters and Adoption chart (showing an overview of offboarding activity that has taken place or is scheduled to take place for the specified Organizational Unit)
  3. Offboarding Status Snapshot (where you can see the live overview of the status of current offboarding processes)
  4. Transferred Items (details the number of specific items that have been transferred in the last month, calendar year and all-time)

The Counts statistic simply displays the numbers of Users, External Contact, Organizational Units, Groups, Smart Teams, Microsoft Teams (for Microsoft 365), Roles and Delegations on your domain.

Clicking on a number (in orange) will display a results search showing a list of all instances of the specific type (e.g. Users, Groups) on your domain. 




The Users chart shows a quick visual representation of the current status of your user accounts.

In the example below, each part of the circle represents one of the following account statuses, with a larger percentage of the circle representing more user accounts in that specific status.

  • Active Accounts
  • Unused Accounts (not logged in for 30 days)
  • Suspended Accounts
  • Accounts On Hold
  • Users Deprovisioning


You can also hover your cursor over a portion of the circle to see the exact percentage of your total users are in the selected state. In the example below, you can see that 19% of all users on the domain are classed as Active.



Smart Items 

The Smart Items chart displays the number and percentage of each type of Group you have on your domain. Groups are split into:

  • Manual Groups
  • Dynamic Smart Groups
  • Disabled Dynamic Smart Groups


You can also hover your cursor over a portion of the circle to see the exact percentage of the total number of groups are in the selected state. In the example below, you can see that 14.6% of all Groups on the domain are classed as Dynamic Smart Groups.



Login Locations

The Login Locations chart displays a visual representation of the number of users that have logged in, within the last 30 days, in each location (filtered by country and based on the IP address of the device that the user has logged in on). 

This chart can be useful in the following two ways:

  • Where you have offices in seperate countries - You can see the proportion of users in each (so that you gauge the adoption rate of CloudM throughout your business). 
  • Where logins are occurring from suspicious locations - You can check to see if these logins are legitimate, and, if not, put processes in place to protect your domain.


You can also hover your cursor over a portion of the circle to see the exact percentage of the total number of logins that originated from the selected country. In the example below, you can see that 99% of all logins (in the past 30 days) occurred in the United Kingdom.



Backup Statistics

If you are using CloudM Backup, the Backup Statistics section will show useful information on how your backups are doing. If you click on the number next to Users With Policy or Shared Drives With Policy you'll see a side panel showing the list of users or Shared Drives. The rest of the numbers hyperlink to the Backup Status page for more detail. (The Backup Status section will only be visible if the user has the 'View backup status of user' permission.)


Products (Microsoft 365 only)

The Products chart displays a quick visual representation of which of your Microsoft 365 products your users are actively using. The chart allows you to monitor the adoption rates of new products, and also see which products are not being used effectively (so you can schedule additional training or look for an alternative).


You can also hover your cursor over a portion of the bar for a selected product (for example, Exchange in the example below) to see the percentage of your total users that are either Active, Inactive or Unlicensed for the product.




The Activity graph displays a visual representation of how many occurences of each activity (Login, Profile Update, Password Update, Searches, Deprovisions) have taken place over the last month. It can also be used to see how much activity occurred on a specific day, and to spot patterns of behavior (a noticeable increase or decrease of activity throughout the month).

Activity_graph_1.PNGHovering your cursor on a specific line will highlight the line, and hovering your cursor over a point on the line will display the occurrences for the specified activity on a specific day (as shown in the image below).



Activity Map

The Activity Map displays the geographic location of all users that have logged in within the last 30 minutes and lists the individual users. You can use the zoom in and zoom out options on the map to customise the level of detail you want to view (e.g. you can zoom in to view login numbers at a specific building or street, or zoom out to see login numbers by city or country).
