Setup Checklist

This checklist walks you through every step required to get CloudM Continuity up and running. Follow the steps in order — each step links to a detailed article with full instructions.

Before you start

Make sure you meet all the system requirements, including admin access to both your Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments.

Phase 1: Access and tenant setup

1 Sign in to CloudM Continuity ~2 min
  • Navigate to the CloudM Continuity dashboard URL
  • Sign in with your Google account
  • Accept the invitation to your tenant (if you were invited by another admin)

2 Create your tenant ~5 min
  • Enter a tenant name and description
  • Tenant is created and you become the initial Super Admin
  • Enter your licence key (format: BCSYNC-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) to activate the product

Phase 2: Connect your platforms

3 Connect Microsoft 365 ~15 min
  • Register an application in Azure AD
  • Configure Microsoft Graph API permissions
  • Grant admin consent for the permissions
  • Generate a self-signed certificate and export as PFX
  • Upload the certificate (.cer) to Azure AD and the PFX to CloudM Continuity

4 Connect Google Workspace ~15 min
  • Create or select a GCP project
  • Create a service account
  • Enable the Gmail API and Admin SDK API
  • Configure domain-wide delegation in the Google Admin console
  • Grant the CloudM token provider the Service Account Token Creator role on your service account
  • Enter the service account email, domain, and admin email in CloudM Continuity

Phase 3: Test and go live

5 Test your connections ~5 min
  • On the Connections page, use the three-dot menu on each connection card and select Test connection
  • Confirm both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace show "Active" status
  • Resolve any errors flagged by the test

6 Create your first sync policy ~10 min
  • Go to the Policies page
  • Enter a policy name and description
  • Select item types (Mail), set a user query, and choose a destination domain
  • Set the sync frequency (value and unit, e.g. 1 Hour, 1 Day) within your licence tier limit
  • Enable the policy to start syncing
7 Monitor initial sync progress
  • Return to the Dashboard to monitor the sync pipeline
  • Watch users move from "With policy" through "Initial sync" to "Delta sync"
  • Check the Sync Status page for per-user sync details
  • Review the Logs page for any errors or warnings

Optional: Invite team members

Once setup is complete, you can invite other IT administrators to your tenant. Go to user management in the sidebar, send invitations by email, and assign appropriate roles (Super Admin, Admin, or Viewer).
