This article explains how to upload a previously exported Batch Configuration XML file into CloudM Migrate Self-Hosted. This allows you to restore saved templates, move configurations between servers, or re-import batches for testing.
Prerequisites:
You must have a valid, exported Batch Configuration file (
.xml).
You can import a batch configuration directly from the Projects screen. This feature is useful if you have saved a batch as a template for later use, or if you are moving a specific configuration to a new instance of CloudM Migrate.
Step-by-Step Guide
Navigate to the Projects screen in CloudM Migrate.
Locate the Create button in the top right corner.
Click the drop-down arrow next to the Create button (not the button itself).
Select Upload batch config.
In the file picker, select your
.xmlconfiguration file.A dialog window will appear asking for a Name and providing a "Create a new project/connections..." checkbox.
Understanding the "Create a new project/connections..." Checkbox

The upload dialog includes a checkbox labeled: 'Create a new project/connections for this migration batch'.
Your choice here determines whether the batch is added to an existing project or if a completely new project structure is created.
Option 1: Unchecked (Default)
Goal: Merge this batch into an existing Project.
-
How it works: CloudM Migrate will scan your existing projects to find a match based on the Destination Domain and Connection Settings found in your XML file.
If a Match is Found: The batch is added to that existing Project.
If No Match is Found: A new Project is automatically created for that Destination Domain.
Note: For a match to be successful, the connection settings in the XML must exactly match the settings of the existing project.
Option 2: Checked
Goal: Force the creation of a separate, new Project.
How it works: CloudM Migrate will ignore any existing projects and create a brand new Project with new Source and Destination connections.
Use Case: Choose this if you want to isolate this batch from previous runs or test a configuration without affecting your main project history.
