Hold User - Legal Hold Status

During the lifecycle of a user account, you may have a requirement to place an account in a 'Hold' status for any number of reasons e.g. legal investigation, maternity leave or sabbatical. 

To add the On Hold status to a user account:

  1. Navigate to the user profile you wish to place on hold,
  2. Select the Actions button and select 'Hold User' from the drop down menu, as shown below,

  1. On the confirmation pop-up box, select Yes to put the user on hold.

  1. On the information panel, the user's status will be changed to On Hold.

Hold Status

Once this setting has been enabled for user account, there is no way to deprovision or delete this account. Also, the 'Hold' status does not affect the usage of an account from the user perspective. If you wish to prevent this account from being used, you must also apply the Suspend setting.

 

To remove the On Hold status from a user account:

  1. Navigate to the user profile you wish to remove the hold from. You are also able to search for users on hold with the search query,
  2. Select the Actions button and select Release User from the menu as shown.

  1. On the confirmation pop-up box, select Yes to release the user from hold.
  2. On the information panel, the user's status will be changed to Active.
