Installing CloudM

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the CloudM platform directly from the Google Workspace Marketplace.

Prerequisites

Before beginning the installation, please ensure you meet the following requirements:

1. Super Administrator Access

You must be signed in with a Google Workspace Super Administrator account to install the CloudM app.

Recommended: Use a dedicated "Service Admin" User Account
While you can use your personal Super Admin account, we recommend using a dedicated user account (e.g., cloudm-admin@yourdomain.com) for the installation.

Why?

  • Primary Administrator: The account used for installation becomes the primary CloudM Administrator.

  • Audit Logs: This account will appear in Google Workspace logs whenever CloudM performs actions or syncs data. Using a dedicated account makes it clear in the logs that a "service" performed the change rather than a specific person.

  • Continuity: If a specific person leaves the company and their account is deleted, the CloudM connection may break. A dedicated account ensures long-term stability.

2. Installation Scope

The application must be installed for Everyone at your organization (all users on the domain) to ensure the platform has the necessary permissions to manage domain-wide data.

Follow the steps below to add CloudM to your Google Workspace environment.

  1. Access the Marketplace

Navigate to the Google Workspace Marketplace listing for CloudM. You can do this using one of the following methods:
