Edit Details on the OU Informational Panel

 

When you select an Organizational Unit from the list, the informational panel for the specific OU will slide in from the right hand side of the screen. You can edit the information displayed on the panel, as described below: 

  • On the Organizational Units screen, click on the Organizational Unit that you want to edit.
  • The Information panel will slide in from the right hand side of the screen.

  • Select Edit.
  • The Edit Organizational Unit panel will appear.
  • You can edit the following:
    • Display Name - Rename the Organizational Unit.
    • Description - Change the description of the OU
    • Email Address - Select Add to enter any additional email addresses associated with the OU (e.g. a department might have a joint email address). Select Remove to remove them from the OU.
    • Addresses - Select Add to enter an address associated to the OU and specify whether it is a business, home or other address, and whether it is the Primary address for the OU. Select Remove to remove from the OU.
      • If the OU has been set to use the inherited address of the Parent OU (in Administrate > Profile Fields), the inherited address or addresses will be displayed. They cannot be removed but you can choose whether they are visible.
    • Telephone - Select Add to enter a telephone number associated to the OU and specify whether it is a business, home or other number, and whether it is the Primary number for the OU. Select Remove to remove from the OU.
      • If the OU has been set to use the inherited telephone number of the Parent OU (in Administrate > Profile Fields), the inherited number or numbers will be displayed. They cannot be removed but you can choose whether they are visible.
    • Web links - Select Add to enter a URL associated to the OU and specify the type of link. Select Remove to remove from the OU.
      • If the OU has been set to use the inherited web links of the Parent OU (in Administrate > Profile Fields), the inherited link or links will be displayed. They cannot be removed but you can choose whether they are visible.
    • Extra Information - This is where you can add any extra information relating to the OU that you want displayed on their information panel that is not covered above. Select Add and then enter the field in the first box and the value in the second box. Select Remove to remove from the OU.
      • If the OU has been set to use the inherited extra information of the Parent OU (in Administrate > Profile Fields), the inherited information will be displayed. It cannot be removed but you can choose whether it is visible.
  • Select the Save button to confirm any changes. They will now be displayed on the Information Panel.
