Problem

When migrating to Google Workspace, the following error is seen:

Failed: User does not exist and has not been created (do you need to turn on ‘Create Users’?)

Solution

This problem can occur when the user being migrated to in Google Workspace does not exist and the tool has not been configured to create users. To fix the problem either:

  • Create the user in Google Workspace
  • Enable the option ‘Create Users/Resources’ in Google Workspace destination platform Advanced Settings to have the tool create the user. Full name details and an initial password must be provided in the user details. It is also possible to force the user to change their password on login, by using the setting ‘Change Password on Login’ in the same configuration area.
