Advanced Options for Microsoft 365 - Source

While the default options are recommended for the majority of organisations, CloudM Migrate gives users the ability to customise their migration experience. The following are some of the Advanced Options available to customers migrating from Microsoft 365. Changing some of these options will change the way data is migrated.

SharePoint Online

SharePoint Migration API - SharePoint Migration API is recommended for all migrations to SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. For more information see the article here.

SharePoint Admin Url - The Url for the SharePoint admin center e.g. https://tenant-admin.sharepoint.com

Timeout - The timeout that will apply to communications with the SharePoint server.

Include Classic Team Sites in User List - Specifies whether Team Sites will be obtained when getting a user list.

Retry Count - The number of times an operation will be attempted before failing.

Document Sharing/Permissions - Choose whether the document should be shared as per the source file ACLs if they can be resolved to email addresses (see documentation).

Default Document Library Name - When migrating Microsoft Teams/Microsoft Groups/OneDrive this document library will be mapped to the default document library in the destination.

Hybrid Environment - Allows a custom 'SharePoint Admin Url' and 'SharePoint My Sites Url' to be entered for hybrid migration.

Email

Excluded Item Classes - Specify the list of item classes that will not be processed as part of a migration. Exact matches are made on the value specified here.

Log Excluded Items - Include excluded mail items in the migration reports. May produce large reports where many items are not migrated due to matching rules.

Recoverable Mail Item - Select how to include recoverable mail items when migrating from Exchange and Office 365.

Extended MAPI Properties - Specify the list of custom MAPI properties to migrate (valid when migrating to Exchange/Office 365 only).-

Included Item Classes - Specify the list of item classes that will be processed as part of a migration. Wildcard matches can be used.

Migrate SMIME Signed Messages Without Modification - When migrating SMIME signed messages, perform no modification of the messages. This could mean some other features of CloudM Migrate may not be executed, such as moving attachments to Drive or ensuring the sent address is correct. It will ensure however that the digital signature verifies.

Recoverable Mail Items Label/Category - Apply the specified label/category to items migrated from within the Recoverable Items folder. Leave empty to not apply a label/category.

Contact

Primary Contact Type - Choose either SMTP or SIP address when resolving contact email addresses.

Exclude Group GAL Contact Aliases - Exclude additional email addresses (aliases) when resolving a Group GAL contact.

Calendar

Migrate Non-Organizer Attendee Statuses - Attempt to migrate attendee statuses for appointments where the migrating user is not the owner (when the owner is being migrated attendee statuses are always preserved). Due to API limitations, for any appointments from outside of the domain and from any accounts that no longer exist the attendee status will always not be migrated.

Exchange 2007 Calendar Timezone - The default timezone to use with appointments when migrating from Exchange 2007 when the timezone is not identified by other means.

Microsoft Teams/Groups

Export Chat Message Type - Export Microsoft Team Channel Conversations as: Email, Document or both.

Test Office 365 Group Email - The email address of an Office 365 Group that already exists.

Retry Count - The number of times an operation will be attempted before failing.

Teams Chat API licensing model - Some Teams APIs provide the option to choose a licensing and payment model. Default model enables access to APIs with limited usage per requesting application for evaluation purposes. Model A is restricted to applications performing a security or compliance function, and requires a supported license. Model B is restricted to applications that do not perform a security or compliance function.

Maximum Results Per Request - The maximum number of results to return for individual queries.

Timeout - The timeout for operations with the server.

Migrate Teams Planner - Migrate Teams Planner Plans, Buckets and Tasks.

Use EWS API for Teams Private Chats - Export Teams Private Chat Messages using EWS API instead of billable Graph API. Since it is a protected API Microsoft will require licensing and billing information based on the Model picked set the option Teams Chat API licensing model.

Public Folders

Include Public Folders in User List - Specifies whether Public Folders will be obtained when getting a user list.

Public Folder User Name -  The primary SMTP email address of the user that will be used when migrating Public Folders. This user must have an active mailbox.

Authentication

Exchange Version - The version of the Exchange source platform.

Use Workstation Credentials - Use the credentials of the logged in user of the workstation to perform migrations rather than the provided username and password. The admin username and password is still required for auto-discovery.

User

Migrate Out Of Office - Migrate user Out Of Office settings.

Migrate Signature - Migrate user signature settings.

Migrate Mailbox Rules - Migrate Microsoft 365 Mailbox Mail Rules

Transfer and Performance

Timeout - The timeout that will apply to communications with the Exchange server.

Max Wait Timed - Specify the maximum time that a wait operation can wait between exponential backoff retry attempts.

Use X-AnchorMailbox Header - When using application impersonation, use the X-AnchorMailbox header to improve performance.
