Running the CloudM Migrate Service on both the primary and any secondary server(s) using a dedicated Windows account may be required for migrations from the following source types:
- PST Archives
- EML / MBOX Archives
- File System
This configuration ensures the CloudM Migrate deployment has the necessary permissions to access and process data from these sources.
Configuration Steps
To configure the CloudM Migrate Migration Service to log on with a dedicated account:

Open the Windows Services application (e.g., by typing
services.mscin the Run dialog or searching in the Start Menu). -
Locate and right-click on CloudM Migrate Migration Service in the list.

Select Properties.

Navigate to the Log On tab.

Select the "This account" radio button.

Enter the login details (username and password) for the dedicated Windows user account you wish to use.
- Recommendation: A full system administrator account is recommended.
- Required Permission: The account must have full read access to the source data being migrated (e.g., network shares, PST file locations).
