The following article refers to changes made to the CloudM Manage software for version 1.0 (released on 24th September, 2020).
It's here! We have been spending the last few months designing and refining our new CloudM Manage User Interface.
But, we haven't simply just given the software a fresh coat of paint (although we have given it a modern facelift as well). We have made some major changes, based on user feedback, that will improve your experience with our software, right now and in the future. We believe it is now much more innovative and intuitive, providing the perfect platform for even more exciting features that we can't wait to share with you.

We have made navigation much easier by grouping all of our features into 4 main sections, which, when selected, will display a menu of sub features:
- Home - A brand new area to view data and insights about your domain. Expect this area to grow in the future - so keep an eye out for updates!
- Directory - Create, edit and delete your domain information, such as Organizational Units, Users, Smart Teams, Groups, and Contacts.
- We have also introduced profile panels that slide in from the right of the screen, over the top of the existing screen, instead of separate profile screens. This means that now you can view and close a profile, and quickly return to the same point in a list, making viewing multiple profiles much quicker and easier.
- If you are managing multiple domains, the Managed Domains settings can also be found as a sub feature of the Directory section.
- We have also merged Smart Groups and Google Groups into one “Groups” type, which can have either dynamic or static member lists.
- Administrate - Set workflows that affect your domain, such as the Onboarding and Offboarding policies and Email Signature Management.
- Apart from changing the initial location and some small UI differences, we have tried not to change the actual administrative processes that much. If anything, we have made them more intuitive. But, if you do get stuck, don’t worry - our Knowledge Base is available to help.
- There was plenty of confusion over what Provisioning and Deprovisioning actually meant so we have made a little change to the terminology we use. From now on, the processes of adding a user to and removing a user from your domain will be referred to as Onboarding and Offboarding.
- We’ve added a new ‘Offboarding Status’ area to allow admins to view all individual offboarding actions that are currently active within their domain. This will also enable bulk actions across individual offboarded users!
- Settings - Configure Global settings within the CloudM Manage platform, such as Branding, Roles and Domain Settings.
- We have simplified how you can customize the look of the new UI. To compliment the new look, you can choose your brand color to replace our CloudM “Tang”. You can still add your logo to the screen, and a custom favicon and text to the web browser tab.
- If you have set the Primary button color in the current UI to a custom color, this color will automatically be used as your Branding color in the new UI.
- Synchronization & Notifications settings can now be found under the Domain Settings option.
As much as we have worked hard to make our software as intuitive as possible, we know that you might need some help from time to time.
That is why we have added a couple of in-software help features:
- Knowledge Base Widget - Selecting the Question icon in the header now opens up a Help widget that allows you to view Knowledge Base articles without leaving the software.
- The top articles that will be suggested to you when you open the Help widget will be relevant to the screen you are on. If you are on the Org Units screen, expect to see the “What is an Organizational Unit?” article suggested.
- Our Knowledge Base will also be undergoing an update to coincide with the release of CloudM Manage
- In-Product Onboarding - We're adding guided walkthroughs to the platform to help guide new and existing users through some of the processes, workflows and any new features.
- All in-software references to the product have been checked for consistency, with any remaining references to the legacy “CloudManager” product name changed to “CloudM Manage”.
- CloudM Manage will be available in 6 core languages - English US, English UK, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
- By concentrating on these languages, we can ensure that new features are translated on or close to release.
- As we have changed the locations of all features within CloudM Manage, you may need to update some of your bookmarks.
