The following article refers to changes made to the CloudM Migrate software for version 3.21 (released on 7th April, 2020).
You may have noticed that we have been busy making some changes to our CloudM Migrate software. A well as the product name change (the product has now changed from CloudMigrator to CloudM Migrate) and brand logo and color change, we have also made some subtle, yet beneficial changes to the user interface to improve your user experience.
Here are the main changes that we have made:
- Persistent navigation sidebar
We have swapped the collapsible navigation menu (that appears as a "Burger" menu in the upper left hand corner of the screen) with a persistent navigation sidebar (in the left hand column of the screen).
This allows you to quickly change between options, requiring less clicks within the software, and also displays all options instead of hiding them within the "Burger" menu.
- Quick access to your user profile
You can now quickly access your User Profile by clicking on the User Profile icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. The icon can be changed to an image of your choosing, or, if left blank, will display your initials.
In the User Profile screen, you can edit basic profile information and update your password.
Previously, you would have been required to use the collapsible navigation menu (in the upper left corner of the screen) to select Profile.
- Improvements and relocation of the migration stages menu
When you start to configure your migration, you will notice that the stage progression menu has moved from the right hand side of the configuration screen to the left hand side. Additionally, instead of being represented by the stage number (e.g. 2 = Destination Platform Settings), each stage is permanently displayed by name as well.
This allows you to instantly know which stage of the configuration you are at, and also allows you to quickly jump to a specific section, such as Destination platform, if you need to make a specific change to a setting.
- Renaming on the Start Menu
When you start the CloudM Migrate application from the Start Menu on your laptop or PC, you will notice that the folder name has also changed from Cloud Technology Solutions to CloudM. This change is also represented in your Program Files directory folder, but will not currently affect Program Data folders.
