We recommend using the Web Application to interact with CloudM Migrate. It contains many improvements, enhancements and new features compared with the Desktop Application.
Additionally, please use a Google Chrome browser as you may experience issues using Internet Explorer.
CloudM Migrate comes with two user interfaces for configuring, running and monitoring migrations. These are:
- CloudM Migrate Web Application
- CloudM Migrate Desktop Application
CloudM Migrate Web Application
The Web Application is the recommended way to use CloudM Migrate. The interface runs in any modern browser (we recommend Google Chrome - do not use unsupported browsers such as Internet Explorer) and provides a rich, intuitive experience to configure, manage and run migrations with CloudM Migrate. When new features are added to CloudM Migrate, they are normally now made available only in the Web Application (core migration changes are available in both applications).
If you have configurations from the Desktop Application, you can easily import them into the Web Application. See the table below for the differences between the two applications.
CloudM Migrate Desktop Application
The CloudM Migrate Desktop Application is the legacy interface for configuring and running migrations. Most new features are not available within the desktop application and it provides basic functionality for configuring and running a single migration.

This can be combined with environment scan to determine the amount of data within the source system, making the process more accurate.
