While the default options are recommended for the majority of organisations, CloudM Migrate gives users the ability to customise their migration experience. The following are some of the Advanced Options available to customers migrating from IMAP.
Message Options
In order to help with the specification of IMAP special folders and excluded folders, you can list all folders for the test account by using Tools->IMAP->List IMAP Folders. This dialog will list the folder names as seen by the migration tool and can be used to build the special folder names and excluded folder names.
List IMAP Folders
CloudM Migrate uses the standard IMAP command to get the folders.
See https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3501#section-6.3.8
It should list all these folders unless they are an exception (by permissions, for example).
- IMAP Special Folder Names – Specify the full name (case sensitive) of the IMAP special folders. You can specify a folder name for Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts and Deleted Items. These may differ depending on the IMAP server in use and should be specified as required for your IMAP server. If your IMAP server does not support one of the available special folders, leave it empty.
- Auto Generate Missing Message IDs – If messages are found with no ‘Message-ID’ header, automatically generate one. Note that the ID is generated using a hash of the message header contents to enable messages with no ID to work with migration history.
- Remove Label Prefix – Remove the specified value from the beginning of any IMAP folders/labels. This can be useful if your IMAP server prefixes all folders with [INBOX] or similar.
- Replace Folder Strings – Specify any replacements that will be performed within folder/label names. Sometimes, IMAP uses a . (dot) to separate folders and to replace this with a forward slash (as normally required to separate folders) specify a dot and a forward slash in this option.
