This article explains how to view the results of previous migration runs, including the export and import detail for every item in each run. Persistent run history was introduced in CloudM Migrate 5.1.
In earlier versions, starting a new migration run replaced the per-item detail from the run before it, so only summary reports were available for previous runs. From version 5.1, the item results of each run are archived when the run completes, and you can look back at the item-level detail of earlier runs at any time.
Viewing a previous run
Steps:
- Go to the Progress page for your migration batch.
- Click View report history. A list of previous runs for the batch is displayed.
- Open the run you want to review. The progress view shows the migration statistics for that run.
- Click on an item in the run to see its detailed per-item results, including the export and import outcome for each item.
Runs completed on versions earlier than 5.1 appear in the report history with summary information only. Item-level detail is available for runs completed on version 5.1 or later.
Controlling how many runs are kept
The number of previous runs kept in the database is controlled by the Run History Retention Count setting, found in the System section of the General advanced settings.
- Default: 5
- Range: 0 to 100
When a run completes, its item results are archived and any archived runs beyond the retention count are removed, oldest first. Setting the value to 0 turns item result archiving off; the migration itself is unaffected.
Item results are stored in the CloudM Migrate database. If you run large migrations and keep a high number of runs, allow for the additional database storage this uses.
