Restoration Status

The Restoration Status section tracks the history and progress of data moving out of CloudM Archive and back into a live environment (such as Google Workspace). Use this screen to confirm that restored data has reached its target.


Accessing Restoration Status

  1. Sign in to CloudM Automate with an account that has Archive permissions.
  2. Navigate to Archive in the main menu.
  3. Select Restoration Status.

Understanding the Dashboard

At the top of the screen, you will see a summary of restoration activity:

  • In Progress: The number of restoration jobs currently running.
  • Completed (30 Days): Jobs finished successfully in the last month.
  • Completed (Total): The total number of restoration jobs finished since inception.

Restoration Status Columns

Below the overview is a table listing all restoration processes, ordered from newest to oldest.

  • User: The original owner of the archived data.
  • Date: The timestamp when the restoration process began.
  • Storage bucket: The storage bucket to which the user's data is archived.
  • Data Type: The category of data being restored. 
    Note: Legacy Google Hangouts data is counted as "Mail" during restoration.
  • Target: The destination user account receiving the restored data.
  • Count: The total number of individual items restored.
  • Status: The current state of the job:
    • Running
    • Completed
    • Failed
    • Aborting / Aborted

Viewing Errors and Retrying

Click on any row in the status table to view the Information Panel.

  • Item Breakdown: See the exact count of items restored per data type.
  • Time elapsed: View how long the restoration has been running.
  • Error Handling:
    • If a process shows a Failed status, click the View Errors button to see which items were not restored.
    • You can use the Retry button within this panel to re-attempt the restoration for those specific items.

Filtering Results

To locate specific restoration jobs quickly, you can filter the list by:

  • User (search for a specific user's email or name).
  • Status (e.g., show only "Failed" jobs).
  • Storage bucket.
