Log Notifications

Users have the option to configure email notifications for specific events detected in the logs. This functionality enables users to receive alerts when particular events occur within the platform, such as a user's backup failure or a user deletion.

Note:  A User must have the 'View Logs' and 'Manage Log Notification configurations' permissions to create, edit and delete Log Notifications.

Setting up a Log Notification

1. Navigate to Settings and choose Logs.

2. Click on the Screenshot 2024-07-03 102525.png icon to filter the logs based on specific events. Once the filter is created, click on Filter.

Below is a summary of filter types. While we recommend focusing on Operation Type for notifications, filters can be based on any criteria.

  • User - Displays the account responsible for the action, sometimes shown as 'System' in certain scenarios like domain synchronization events.
  • From/To - Allows specifying a timeframe within the logs to search for events.
  • Context type - Filters events based on a specific item type, e.g., profile.
  • Context name - Represents the target of an action, e.g., filtering for a user when an end date is set.
  • Operation type - Filters for a specific type of event, e.g., assigning an alias.
  • Country - Narrows the search to a specific geolocation.

3. Click on Create Log Notification to create a notification, based on the defined filter

4. Specify a number (in hours) for Log Notification Frequency to determine how often you wish to receive a summary when a log event matching your filter occurs. The minimum frequency is 2 hours.

5. Enter the email addresses of users, groups, or smart teams in Log Notification recipients who should receive the notification email. Add each recipient by clicking the + after entering their email.

6. Click on Save.

Note: The system currently supports up to 20 unique notifications.
