Microsoft 365 - Source Settings

This article outlines the settings available for Microsoft 365 as a source.

SharePoint Online

  • SharePoint migration API: Enable the SharePoint migration API. This is generally recommended at the destination rather than the source.
  • Retry count: The number of times an operation will be attempted before failing.
  • Timeout: The timeout that will apply to communications with the SharePoint server.
  • Document sharing/permissions: Choose whether the document should be shared as per the source file ACLs if they can be resolved to email addresses.
  • Include classic Team Sites in user list: Specifies whether Team Sites will be obtained when getting a user list.
  • Default document library name: When migrating Microsoft Teams/Microsoft Groups/SharePoint Sites/OneDrive this document library will be mapped to the default document library in the destination.

Email

  • Excluded item classes: Specify the list of item classes that will not be processed as part of a migration. Exact matches are made on the value specified here.
  • Included item classes: Specify the list of item classes that will be processed as part of a migration. Wildcard matches can be used.
  • Log excluded items: Include excluded mail items in the migration reports. May produce large reports where many items are not migrated due to matching rules.
  • Migrate SMIME signed messages without modification: When migrating SMIME signed messages, perform no modification of the messages. This could mean some other features of CloudM Migrate may not be executed, such as moving attachments to Drive or ensuring the sent address is correct. It will ensure however that the digital signature verifies.
  • Recoverable mail items: Select how to include recoverable mail items when migrating from Exchange and Microsoft 365.
  • Recoverable mail items label/category: Apply the specified label/category to items migrated from within the Recoverable Items folder. Leave empty to not apply a label/category.
  • Extended MAPI properties: Archive ID:String;Saveset ID:String;ExMD5:String;ExShortcut:Integer;PR_MSGID2:String;
Specify the list of custom MAPI properties to migrate (valid when migrating to Exchange/Microsoft 365 only).

Contact

  • Primary contact type: Choose either SMTP or SIP address when resolving contact email addresses.
  • Exclude group GAL contact aliases: Exclude additional email addresses (aliases) when resolving a group GAL contact.

Calendar

  • Migrate non-organizer attendee statuses: Attempt to migrate attendee statuses for appointments where the migrating user is not the owner (when the owner is being migrated attendee statuses are always preserved). Due to API limitations, for any appointments from outside of the domain and from any accounts that no longer exist the attendee status will always not be migrated.
  • Exchange 2007 calendar timezone: The default timezone to use with appointments when migrating from Exchange 2007 when the timezone is not identified by other means.

Microsoft Teams/Groups

  • Export chat message type: Export Microsoft Team channel conversations as: email, document or both.
  • Maximum results per request: The maximum number of results to return for individual queries.
  • Timeout: The timeout for operations with the server.
  • Retry count: The number of times an operation will be attempted before failing.
  • Migrate Teams planner: Migrate Teams planner plans, buckets and tasks.
  • Teams chat API licensing model: The number of times an operation will be attempted before failing.
  • Teams direct migration: Migrate team channels and messages directly into the new team in destination.
  • Migrate team channel tabs: Migrate team channel tabs, web, documents such as Word, Excel, PDF and PowerPoint.
  • Finalize Teams direct migration: Mark Teams direct migration as completed. Migrating Teams data with this option enabled will take Team out of the migration mode. This option opens the team and channel resources for general use by team members. No further migrations can be performed against finalized team.

Public folders

  • Include public folders in user list: Specifies whether public folders will be obtained when getting a user list.
  • Public folder username: The primary SMTP email address of the user that will be used when migrating public folders. This user must have an active mailbox.

User

  • Migrate account delegates: Migrate user account delegation.
  • Migrate signature: Migrate user signature settings.
  • Migrate out of office: Migrate user out of office settings.
  • Migrate mailbox rules: Migrate Microsoft 365 mailbox mail rules

Transfer and performance

  • Retry count: The number of times an operation will be attempted before failing.
  • Max wait time: Specify the maximum time that a wait operation can wait between exponential backoff retry attempts.
  • Timeout: The timeout that will apply to communications with the Exchange server.
  • Use X-AnchorMailbox header: When using application impersonation, use the X-AnchorMailbox header to improve performance.
